(OCI) is an employee-owned consulting firm providing civil engineering, landscape architecture, and urban design on public projects across Washington state. This position can be based out of our Seattle, WA or Bellevue, WA office. Conduct fieldwork, including site assessments and data gathering.Assist in preparing technical documentation associated with the restoration design process, including writing proposals, design summaries, mitigation plans, cost/quantity estimates, bid documents, construction specifications, construction oversight reports, and post-construction monitoring.Assist in providing oversight of restoration and planting areas during construction.Coordinate with local design and construction teams, collaborate with other team members to collect and analyze field data to establish existing conditions, identify potential design constraints, determine design parameters, and post construction monitoring.Develop and interpret stream and wetland restoration plans, appropriate planting plans, erosion and sediment control plans, and as-built plans with support of senior staff.Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Lead.Landscape architect licensure and continuing education in related fields.Solid computer software skills in SketchUp, MicroStation, Adobe Creative Suite, Land F/X, Revit, , and other industry software.Successful built projects and construction administration expertise.It would be great, but not required, to have these additional qualifications: Familiarity with ESRI ArcGIS and AutoCAD Civil 3D.Certified Professional Wetland Scientist (PWS) or Society for Ecological Restoration's Certified Ecological Restoration Practitioner (CERP).2 to 5+ years’ consulting experience in preparing planting plans, delineating wetlands, preparing wetland reports, and developing and implementing mitigation plans.In-depth training in at least one of the following areas: plant ecology, soils, or hydrology.Ability to read and interpret ecological restoration construction plans.Bachelor’s or master’s degree in landscape architecture, hydrology, soil science, botany, ecology, resource management, or related field.To thrive in this position, you have the following required qualifications: Multitasking skills are also essential for success. As a member of our diverse, multidisciplinary team, you’ll work closely with landscape architects, civil engineers, and civil designers to develop planting plans and restore the ecosystem function of fish-bearing streams across the Puget Sound and the greater Pacific Northwest.Īs part of our Natural Resources practice, you must be collaborative, thorough, and well organized, with excellent verbal and written communication. We’re looking for a Stream Restoration & Wetland Specialist (or Restoration Design Professional, Urban Ecological Designer) who is inspired by riparian ecology and passionate about a science-driven approach to designing beautiful and resilient spaces.
